GSP Transit Feasibility Study
GSP International Airport - Greenville, SC - Equitable Transportation Expansion
Background
The Upstate Mobility Alliance is conducting a Feasibility Study and Analysis to explore expansion of public transportation services to Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP) in Greenville, SC.
Working with transit authorities such as GreenLink, SPARTA, CATbus, and Electric City Transit (Anderson), GSP, and SCDOT, this Study will be used to inform decisions about future connectivity to, from, and within, the airport’s property.
Challenges
Engaging residents, public transit users, and out-of-town travelers all in one outreach campaign proved to be a challenge.
Many stakeholders were short on time and resources, busy travelers needed convincing to see the value in engaging, and transportation expansion can be an abstract topic. However, we successfully overcame obstacles and were able to gather statistically meaningful feedback. We are also proud to have reached many of the communities that stand to benefit the most from an expansion of transit options in this region.
