GIS Specialist

Established in 2018, Civility Localized (formerly known as Amplify Consulting) is a minority-owned and woman-owned, fast-growing consulting firm located in Charlotte, NC, specializing in community outreach planning and place-based outreach initiatives. Our firm consists of professionals experienced in multiple disciplines, including community outreach planning, community development, marketing, communication, and local government policy. We work with governments and nonprofits to enhance their community engagement capacity and increase awareness of special projects by hosting public meetings and workshops, specifically for capital projects and community developments. The Role

Civility Localized is seeking an GIS Specialist to fulfill a contract requirement in one of our current projects, working on analyzing and developing workforce development and financial literacy organizations for the client.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with the Civility Localized team in producing an ArcGIS Story Map;

  • Communicating with the Civility Localized team to create a satisfactory product;

  • Working with up to 150 submissions for your ArcGIS Story Map;

  • Producing a PowerBI Report;

  • Adhering to Civility Localized Branding Guidelines;

  • Revising submitted works to adhere to partners’ desires.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

The ideal candidate would have the following capabilities and qualities:

  • 1+ years of experience in a consulting, project management, or planning based role;

  • Strong ArcGIS background;

  • Strong Project BI background;

  • Effective communication skills;

  • Experience with creating Story Maps;

  • (Not Required, but Preferred) Experience or Knowledge of Workforce Development and/or Financial Literacy Organizations

Compensation and Work Expectations

You will be working as a subcontractor, meaning that your work will first be submitted to our team for revision and review, sent to the primary employer, and then comments will be passed back directly to you for adjustments. You will not be asked to attend meetings beyond an initial discussion with our director and potential follow-up meetings for communication and clarification.

The contract award amount is $800 - $1200, depending on your experience and volume of work agreed upon at the start of this project.
